Let’s say that the media is correct as it convinces the world that we are experiencing an economic recession, depression, or whatever you label this time period. And let’s pretend that there is really no end in sight. Since this could be the current climate that all of us experience, it is our belief that the ONLY SOLUTION is for YOU as the small/mid-sized business owner, entrepreneur, and practitioner to become INSANELY successful. But, there is a caveat to this solution and in order to share this, let’s begin by defining small enterprise success…
SUCCESS- Establishing a movement around your cause where people become emolectually connected, on a visceral level, to why you do, what you do. Then share your message on your behalf so that your mission grows, expands, and touches more lives, which in turn will lead to financial abundance, a newfound sense of passion, and a shift in your world.
NOW FOR THE CAVEAT- Your success is completely contingent upon WHY YOU DO, WHAT YOU DO … NOT WHAT YOU DO!
We know that you are familiar with the concept of an elevator pitch, but just in case you are not, here is a good explanation…
Pretend that you are in a high rise building on the TOP floor and your IDEAL prospect walks into the elevator with you. You have approximately 30 seconds, from the top floor to the lobby, to communicate WHAT you do with the hope and the desire that this person will say, tell me more, let’s meet for coffee, or please give me your business card.
NOW FOR THE CAVEAT!!!!!
No one cares about WHAT YOU DO…think about yourself as the receiver of your own message or the receiver of the message from someone else. Do you really listen to WHAT PEOPLE DO? The WHAT DOES NOT and WILL NEVER distinguish you….if your what is a chiropractor that is no different than the what of another chiropractor OR if your what is an accountant that is also no different than the what of another accountant. The WHAT IS JARGON and it is boring, it is NOT emotionally engaging, and it most certainly does not DRIVE action.
BUT THERE IS HOPE…
Instead of leading with your WHAT focus on the why, as in WHY YOU DO, WHAT YOU DO—your authentic and passion infused message. Your WHY is actually at the core of your existence and it is what gets you out of bed in the morning. It is what drives you to “keep on keeping on” and it is the reason you have found Synduit. Whether you realize this or not, you have a VERY STRONG desire to share your why, but the problem is that you are unsure of how to access it and you have NO IDEA how to make the world aware of YOUR WHY.
THIS IS THE CAVEAT, BUT THERE IS HOPE…
